Beauty And The Mask

The 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open was a disaster for Tiger Woods.  In his first start of the 2015 season, Woods shot an 82 in the second round, the highest round by any golfer in the first two days, for a total score of 155, 13 over par, tied for dead last (DFL) in the field.   Needless to say, he missed the cut.  It was just the 13th time worldwide that he failed to qualify for the final 36 holes in a tournament.

His Favorite Disguise
ESPN reported that Woods said he was going home to practice.  All duffers know what Wood told ESPN:   “Hitting golf balls is one thing and playing golf at home is another, but playing tournament golf is entirely another.'' Yes, range balls aren’t Pro V1s.  We know that.  Tiger is entered in next week’s tournament, so practice hard, my friend.  Another bad tournament (at Torrey Pines, one of Woods’ favorite - and most productive – venues on tour, winning  8 times on this track during his career), and Woods may have to don his favorite skeleton mask in more places than ski slopes watching significant other Lindsey Vonn perform much better than he is doing at the moment.
Beauty And The Mask

So, if you see someone wearing a skeleton mask in the raucous crowd at the 16th hole on Sunday, maybe Woods stuck around after all.
